Chicken Shack, I'd Rather Go Blind (1969)
Key: :[Dm] (w: Ellington Jordan, Billy Foster) (Etta James, 1969)
VERSE 1:
[F] Something told me it was
[Gm] over
when I saw you and her
[F] talking
Something deep down in my soul said
[Gm] 'Cry Girl'
when I saw you and that girl
[F] walking
CHORUS:
I would rather, I would rather
[Gm] go blind boy
Than to see you, walk away
[F] from me
So you see, I love you
[Gm] so much
And I don't want to see you leave me baby
But most of all, I don't wanna be
[F] free
VERSE 2:
I was just, I was
[Gm] just
I was just sitting here thinking
Of your kisses and your warm
[F] embrace
When the reflection in the glass
That I
[Gm] held to my lips now baby
Revealed the tears that was on my
[F] face
REPEAT CHORUS:
INSTRUMENTAL: [over VERSE]
OUTRO:
Baby, baby, baby, I would rather
[Gm] go blind
Than to see you, walk away
[F] from me
So you see, I love you
[Gm] so much
And I don't want to see you leave me baby
But most of all, I don't wanna be
[F] free
