Elton John, Crocodile Rock (1972)
Key: :[D#] (w: Bernie Taupin, Elton John)
INTRO: [D#] [Cm] [G#] [A#]
VERSE 1:
I
[D#] remember when rock was young
Me and
[Gm] Suzy had so much fun
Holdin'
[G#] hands and skimmin' stones
Had an
[A#] old gold Chevy and a place of my own
VERSE 2:
But the
[D#] biggest kick I ever got
Was doin' a
[Gm] thing called Crocodile Rock
While the
[G#] other kids were rockin' round the clock
We were
[A#] hoppin' and boppin to the Crocodile Rock, well
CHORUS:
[Cm] Crocodile Rockin' is somethin' shockin'
When your
[F] feet just can't keep still
[A#] Never knew me a better time
And I
[D#] guess I never will
Oh
[C] lordy mama, those Friday nights
When
[F] Suzy wore her dresses tight
[A#] Crocodile Rockin' was ou-out of ^
[G#sus4]^
[G#] sight
BRIDGE:
[D#] La-a-a, la-la-la-la
[Cm] la
La-la-la-la
[G#] la, La-la-la-la
[A#] la
VERSE 3:
But the
[D#] years went by and rock just died
[Gm] Suzy went and left us for some foreign guy
[G#] Long nights cryin' by the record machine
[A#] Dreamin' of my Chevy and my old blue jeans
VERSE 4:
But they'll
[D#] never kill the thrills we got
Burnin'
[Gm] up to the Crocodile Rock
Learnin'
[G#] fast as the weeks went past
We really
[A#] thought the Crocodile rock would last, well
