Key: :[A#] (w: Steve Earle)

INTRO: [A#] [A#]

VERSE 1:
Well, I [A#] took a stroll on the old long walk, on a day -I-[F]-ay-I-[D#]-ay
I [A#] met a little [F] girl and we [D#] stopped to [A#] talk, on a fine soft [D#] day-I-[A#]-ay

CHORUS:
And I [D#] ask you, [A#*] friend, what's a [D#] fella to [A#*] do?
'Cause her [Gm] hair was [F] black, and her [D#] eyes were [A#*] blue
And I [D#] knew right [A#*] then, I'd be [D#] takin' a [A#*] whirl
'Round the [Gm] Salthill [F] Prom, with a [D#] Galway [A#*] girl

INSTRUMENTAL 1:
[A#] [A#] // [D#] [A#]
^[D#]^[A#]^[F]^[A#] // [F] ^[D#] [A#]

VERSE 2:
[A#] We were halfway there when the rain came down, on a day -I-[F]-ay-I-[D#]-ay
And she [A#] asked me [F] up to her [D#] flat down [A#] town, on a fine soft [D#] day-I-[A#]-ay

CHORUS 2:
And I [D#] ask you, [A#*] friend, what's a [D#] fella to [A#*] do?
'Cause her [Gm] hair was [F] black, and her [D#] eyes were [A#*] blue
So I [D#] took her [A#*] hand, and I [D#] gave her a [A#*] twirl
And I [Gm] lost my [F] heart, to a [D#] Galway [A#*] girl

REPEAT INSTRUMENTAL 1: [x2]

INSTRUMENTAL 2:
[D#] [D#] // [A#] [F]
^[D#]^[A#]^[F]^[A#] // [F] ^[D#] [A#]

BRIDGE:
When [A#] I woke up I was all alone [D#]
With a [A#] broken [F] heart and a [D#] ticket [A#] home

CHORUS 3:
And I [D#] ask you [A#*] now, tell me [D#] what would you [A#*] do
If her [Gm] hair was [F] black, and her [D#] eyes were [A#*] blue
'Cause I've [D#] travelled [A#*] around, I've been all [D#] over this [A#*] world
Boys I [Gm] ain't never seen [F] nothin', like a [D#] Galway [A#*] girl

REPEAT INSTRUMENTAL 1: [x3] // [A# open]
